Sheri Vegas is fast becoming one of Australia’s most sought-after beauty industry
experts.
Sheri Vegas is a fresh and innovative make-up artist and hair stylist that is in constant demand for photo shoots, red carpet, runway and bridal industries. She was named as the only Australian make-up artist in Buzz Feed’s list of ‘The Coolest Make-Up Artists to Follow’ on Instagram
Sheri has been placed as one of the top ten finalists the last five years for Australian Beauty Industry Awards in the Makeup Artist of the Year category.
As well as signing with Illuminate Management and offering make-up Master Classes designed for aspiring make-up artists, Sheri has launched her own line of multi- functional makeup brushes.
Not only is Sheri such a talented Makeup Artist but also created Makeup Weapons. Makeup Weapons is a range of luxury and cruelty-free makeup brushes and tools. Landing covers of locally and internationally recognized magazines and websites such as Vogue Italia online, Black Hair, Glass Book, Laud and En Vie, Sheri has also worked alongside the crème de la crème of the beauty industry in master training classes with Rae Morris, Martin Bray, Bobbi Brown UK and MAC Australia and on photo shoots with leading fashion photographers including Cameron Wilson, Calvin Milo and Rossella Vanon.
In addition to this impressive background, Sheri has also worked at international fashion weeks such as London, Sydney and Melbourne Fashion weeks. Now seen as an expert Sheri travels to the Sydney and Melbourne beauty expo’s every year to be a guest speaker on stage demo’s showing the latest trends in makeup. Sheri is also a regular judge at the Face to Face awards. Through these experiences, Sheri has further developed her extensive skillset which she instils in her work as an independent makeup artist, allowing her to intuitively accentuate the natural beauty of her clients. Sheri has immense training and practical experience in airbrushing for television and bridal clientele and in theatre as well as film-specific make-up such as period make-up
for both photography and filmography, ensuring incomparable expertise to meet all beauty requirements.
Receiving her Diploma in Specialised Make-Up Services at the Academy of Make-Up Brisbane in 2009, Sheri has since gone on to be a regular contender for a host of leading industry awards. 2012 also saw Sheri receiving an international scholarship from the Queensland Overseas Foundation after having been the runner-up in the Sydney Beauty and Spa Expo in the Fantasy Make-up category in 2011, making her the first-ever make- up artist to win the overseas scholarship. In the world of social media, Sheri is rapidly gaining recognition and a band of loyal local and international followers.
All of this experience has culminated in Sheri this year being a finalist in no less than four award categories at the last Australian Makeup Industry Awards, Bridal Makeup, Best Australian Makeup Artist, Best Independent Business Thinker and Best Independent Business Brand for her bespoke cruelty free brand Makeup Weapons. Sheri took out two of the four winning Best Independent Business Thinker and Best Independent Business Brand for her brushes. Sheri is also currently in the finals for Australian Young Achiever Awards in the Business Category to be announced at a gala event in May.
